Same-Sex Dynamics Among Nineteenth-Century Americans: A Mormon Example by D. Michael Quinn (Champaign, IL: University of Illinois Press, 1996). A scholarly book about same-sex relationships in the last century, and early in the 20th century, that uses Mormon history as a jumping off point to show that homoerotic relationships were more common and openly accepted than we have all been led to believe. Written by one of Mormonism's most respected historians.
